The glass floor fixing bracket was specifically and exclusively designed for 8mm walk-in shower enclosures, but not exclusively. You can also use it for full-height enclosures, for example.
For a full-height wall, you can perfectly fix your glass clamp to the ceiling in order to lock it and thus protect it as much as possible from all possible impacts coming from the outside.
The purpose of this floor or ceiling fixing is to prevent the glass from moving when you step into your shower, should you accidentally kick the wall. This helps keep your glass looking like new over time.
The mounting bracket can be fixed to a shower tray or tiles, regardless of the surface. If fixing it to tiles, you must first drill through the tile with a small three-point drill bit and insert a small wall plug to avoid cracking the tile. However, if you wish to fix it to a shower tray, you can drill directly with a special masonry drill bit.

If you want to securely hold a wall in place, the profile alone isn't enough; you'll need additional fixing, such as a reinforcement bar and its mounting bracket. Properly securing your wall will prevent it from moving, which can cause the seals to shift and potentially leak water over time.
Furthermore, it is important to choose the right drill bit when drilling through tiles in order not to break them.
